Objective
Share of children and adolescents
The student:
- can interpret the role of physical activity in promoting functional capacity at different ages
- explain the stages of growth and development of children and adolescents
- identify the stages of the human life cycle, theories of crisis and explain human psychological processes
- practise physiotherapy skills in different settings for children and adolescents.
- be able to interact in dialogue with clients in a variety of situations
- deepen their professional skills and expertise as they progress in their studies.
Content
- The importance of physical activity by age as a contributor to functional capacity
- Basic physical activity skills, motor development, psychosocial development in children and adolescents
- Human development and life cycle theories, crisis theories and psychological processes
- Practising physiotherapy skills in different settings for children and young people
- Design and implementation of assignments in a practice environment with a pair of students.
- The student will have the opportunity to become familiar with the work of a physiotherapist and with children and young people's functional abilities and their limitations, as well as with rehabilitation using different physiotherapeutic methods.

Student
- has a limited understanding of the role of physical activity at different ages in promoting functional capacity
- cannot logically explain the stages of growth and development of children and adolescents
- does not adequately identify the stages of the human life cycle, theories of crisis and explain human psychological processes
- does not fully apply theory to practical client situations
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Student
- understands in general terms the importance of physical activity at different ages as a means of promoting functional capacity
-partially explains the stages of growth and development of children and young people
-recognises to some extent the stages of the human life cycle, theories of crisis and explains human psychological processes
- apply the theory they have learned incompletely to practical client situations
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Student
- has a broad understanding of the role of physical activity at different ages in promoting functional capacity
- accurately explains the stages of growth and development of children and young people
- can broadly identify the stages of the human life cycle, theories of crisis and explain human psychological processes
- apply a wide range of theories to practical client situations
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Internships within the course will be assessed on a pass/fail basis. The internship is approved when the student carries out the tasks set for the internship and works interactively in the internship environment to develop his/her own professional growth. The student practices work-life skills and reflection on his/her own performance.
The placement is failed if the student does not carry out the tasks of the placement appropriately and does not work professionally in the placement environment to develop his/her interpersonal skills or professional growth.

Teaching methods
The course is delivered as a face-to-face course. The teaching includes independent study, small group work, practice lessons and seminar work.
