Objective
The student is able to
- define the key concepts related to healthy exercise and exercise guidance
- finds solutions for the client's individual health-related change needs and knows how to guide the change process
- assess the client's health with various measurements and methods, also utilizing technology and digitality
- use national exercise and nutrition recommendations and evidence-based information in customer-oriented guidance and counseling skills.
- to plan and implement a goal-oriented exercise lesson for the group using different guidance methods
- justify and apply their activities in individual and group exercise, counseling and guidance skills.
Content
- Health exercise and the key concepts of exercise guidance
- Methods and principles of health promotion
- Utilization of various measurement methods and technology in counseling and guidance skills.
- Finnish exercise and nutrition recommendations for different ages and groups
- Principles and possibilities of group guidance
- Possibilities and guidance of applied individual and group exercise in different environments

The studies consist of lectures, individual and group assignments and practical exercises

Student
- barely knows how to define the key concepts related to health exercise and exercise guidance
- inadequately finds solutions to the client's health-related individual needs for change and is insufficiently able to guide the change process
- can poorly assess the client's health with various measurements and methods, and the utilization of technology and digitality is insufficient
- inadequately uses national exercise and nutrition recommendations and evidence-based information in customer-oriented guidance and counseling skills.
- to plan and implement a mechanically goal-oriented exercise lesson for the group and the utilization of different guidance methods is insufficient
- does not know how to justify his activities in a versatile and applicable way in individual and group exercise, counseling and guidance skills.

Student

- partly finds solutions to the client's health-related individual change needs and knows how to guide the change process to some extent
- is able to assess the general characteristics of the client's health with various measurements and methods, also utilizing technology and digitality
- partially uses national exercise and nutrition recommendations and evidence-based information in customer-oriented guidance and counseling skills.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course assessment is numerical, 1-5, 0= meaning failed
