Objective
The student
- understands the patient's perioperative treatment path.
- can work in a perioperative environment and in a multiprofessional team, taking into account the patient's individual needs, ethics and sustainability.
- identifies the different tasks of perioperative nurses.
- knows how to act aseptically and patient-safely in the different phases of perioperative patient care.
- manages perioperative nursing methods and patient monitoring.

Qualifications
To participate to this study module requires that Basics of Clinical Nursing 1 and Evidence-Based Nursing competence 1 are completed beforehand.

- identify the different tasks of perioperative nurses
- can act in a guided aseptic and patient-safe manner during the different phases of perioperative patient care.
- knows perioperative nursing methods and is able to monitor patients

- be able to work in a perioperative environment and in a multiprofessional team, taking into account the needs of the patient
- be able to describe the different tasks of perioperative nurses
- be able to act aseptically and in a patient-safe manner during the different phases of perioperative patient care.
- be able to assess and apply perioperative nursing techniques and observe the patient
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

- be able to work in a perioperative environment and in a multiprofessional team, taking into account the individual needs of the patient
- be able to describe and understand the different tasks of perioperative nurses
- be able to justify their actions in terms of asepsis and patient safety during the different phases of perioperative patient care.
- be able to evaluate and apply perioperative nursing methods
- can observe the patient and react to changing situations

The student
- cannot describe the patient's perioperative care pathway
- does not know how to work in a perioperative environment and in a multidisciplinary team
- does not recognise the different roles of perioperative nurses
- does not understand the importance of asepsis and patient safety in the care of the perioperative patient
- lack of knowledge of perioperative nursing techniques and poor patient monitoring
- compromises patient safety
