Objective

The student
- is able to describe the factors that influence mental health at different ages.
- can identify and is able to use a wide range of means to promote mental health at different ages in the work of a nurse.
- can support clients of different ages with mental health challenges.
- can identify situations where clients have mental health problems at different ages and make referrals for further treatment when necessary.

Content

- Factors affecting the mental health of under-school children, school-age children, adults and elderly people.
- Addressing mental health issues in the client, family, living environment and circumstances, and strengthening clients' abilities in the work of a public health nurse.
- Identifying mental health problems in people of different ages.
- Supporting clients with mental health challenges.
- Multidisciplinary cooperation on mental health problems.
