Objective
The student
-is able to assess the resources and risk factors related to the health, living conditions and life situation of the elderly and, based on them, plan and implement public health nursing that strengthens the health and functional capacity of the elderly.
-can refer to the available services (multi-sector services).
-is able to cooperate with the elderly and their relatives/next-of-kin and guide them in decision-making related to promoting the health of the elderly and securing a valuable life.
-knows how to act as a public health nursing expert in a multi-professional RAI operation and knows how to use multidisciplinary knowledge in the individual planning of elderly people's care, service and rehabilitation needs.
-can carry out health and medical care at home.

Promoting and assessing the health and functional capacity of the elderly people in health care work.

Proactive large-scale home visit.

-is able to identify and assess the resources and risk factors related to the health, living conditions and life situation of the elderly and on the basis of them the need for service, care and rehabilitation in a client-oriented manner (RAI system, inter-professional cooperation, utilization of multidisciplinary information).
-is able to guide the elderly to find ways / services to survive at home and maintain functional capacity (multi-sector services)
-is able to carry out a wide-ranging proactive home visit and direct the necessary services.
