Objective

Structural competence
Students understand the environmental impact of construction and is familiar with the standards and agreements guiding low-carbon construction. They understand the effect of construction on the environment and know principles of responsible construction. Students are familiar with methods of carbon balance calculation.

Competence in the construction process
The student knows the principles of the norm control concerning energy efficiency, and the effects improving energy efficiency has on construction site. Students are able to promote low-carbon construction and find ways to minimize the environmental effects of construction.

Students know the basics of the environmental effects of construction. Students are familiar with ways to promote the circular economy in construction.

Students know the basics of the topics of the course. Moreover, students are able to apply the topics in their decision making.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students have a comprehensive understanding of the content of the course. They are able to choose the right methods to promote the consideration of the environment in construction and justify the choises based on the topics of the course.
