Objective

Upon completion of the course, students will
- understand the principles of creating calculation models of structures.
- be competent in using FEM software in the static and dynamic simulation of machines and structures.

In addition student will strengthen design and machine safety competences.

Content

- pre-processors, solvers, post-processors
- data transfer from CAD software
- finite element types
- material models
- static and dynamic analyses

Strength of Materials 1, Matrix algebra, Finite-element method, Mechanical vibrations

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Satisfactory (1-2): Student knows the basics principals of the course and is able to utilize them.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3-4): Student knows the knowledge objectives of the course well and is cabable to conceive connections between learned issues

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5): Student knows the knowledge objectives of the course excellent and is able to evaluate and validate content of course
