Computer Aided ManufacturingLaajuus (3 cr)

Code: KL00BT60

Objective

Students will learn the functions of numerically controlled (NC) machines in today's field of engineering. They will understand NC programming and the manufacturing of products with an NC machine. The student is able to take into account economic factors in the choice of manufacturing technologies.

Content

- Types of NC machines and their functions
- Computerized production environment
- Using an NC machine and safety
- Attachment systems
- Tool systems
-Machining parametres
- G and M codes
- Machining co-ordinates
- Economical manufacturing technologies
- CAM software and NC programming with a 3D model of a product

Students will do assignments using 3D-CAM software.

Qualifications

No previous studies are required.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Satisfactory (2-1)
Students are familiar with CAM-program and the basic NC-machine operations

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (4-3)
As above. In addition, students will be able to use the CAM-program for programming NC-programs for easy machined workpieces.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
