Objective
The students can handle daily communication situations at work both orally and in written form using the Swedish language. They can obtain and use field-related information and can use basic terminology of the field. They can develop their language skills according to the requirements of the work life.
After the course, students can tell about themselves, their education and work experience e.g. in job interviews. They can communicate on the telephone and via e-mail. They can tell about their work and requirements at a workplace and can handle customer service situations. The students can act and give advice in work-related situations.

Describing work environment, working conditions and duties at work,
Meetings, instructing/guiding others, customer-service situations. Small talk, expressing one's opinion and arguments.
Telephone and e-mail communication.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Grade 1: Students use simple structures and limited vocabulary. Mistakes impede comprehension. They understand slow and clear speech and easy field-related texts. They manage predictable working life situations when assisted. Pronunciation is influenced by other languages.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Grade 3: Students can use grammatical structures and field-related vocabulary correctly making only minor mistakes. They manage fairly well in the most common predictable field-related situations. The pronunciation is understandable.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Grade 5: Students have an excellent command of grammatical structures and field-related vocabulary. They are active and can interact independently and fluently in written and spoken work life situations. Pronunciation close to that of a native speaker.
