Objective

Students acquire a general understanding of the library network and different kinds of libraries, as well as the development and the current status of libraries. The student can make a presentation of the Finnish library organizations. The student can describe the library associations and international cooperation. Students are able to present the library and information services at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences and to mention key sources of information for the library and information field. They know how to use library and information services.

The student
- has been sufficiently active on the course
- can describe various types of libraries, working duties in libraries and library education in Finland
- can give a presentation of the group work
- is able to present the library and information services at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences and to mention sources of information for the library and information field
- knows how to select sources, use databases and the Internet and how to use other relevant sources of information.

Assessment criteria, good (3)
