Objective

The student is able to communicate in everyday and work-related situations in spoken and written Swedish. He/she can seek and apply work-related information and use basic professional terminology. He/she knows how to develop the language skills to meet the requirements of working life.

The student is able to

- describe himself/herself, his/her education and work experience in e.g. job interviews.
- manage situations on the telephone.
- tell about the work related to his/her professional field.
- manage customer service situations.

- Applying for a job, job interviews and CV
- Describing the work environment, company and occupations
- Small talk
- Telephone and email communication
- Meetings, instructing/guiding others, expressing an opinion and arguments
- Oral customer-service situations and product or company presentations

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The course is targeted to students who have not passed the mandatory Swedish course of their degree program. Those who register to the course must have a grade “fail“ in Swedish in their transcript of records.

Students whose degree program has only one mandatory Swedish course can obtain a Civil Service Language Proficiency Certificate in Swedish.

Students cannot demonstrate their equivalent language skills (recognition of prior learning).
