Objective

Students will learn the functions of numerically controlled (NC) machines in today's field of engineering. They will understand NC programming and the manufacturing of products with an NC machine.

- Types of NC machines and their functions
- Computerized production environment
- Using an NC machine and safety
- Attachment systems
- Tool systems
-Machining parametres
- G and M codes
- Machining co-ordinates
- CAM software and NC programming with a 3D model of a product

Students will do assignments using the CAM software.

Students are familiar with CAM-program and the basic NC-machine operations

As above. In addition, students will be able to use the CAM-program for programming NC-programs for easy machined workpieces

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

As above. In addition, students will be able to use independently NC-machine workpieces manufacture and use CAM-software.
