Objective
The student is able to understand his/her professional responsibility for securing and promoting the safety of patients receiving drug care.
The student is able to plan, implement and evaluate safe drug care for various diseases.
The student is able to dispense pharmaceutical dosage forms correctly.
The student is able to safely administer intracutanous, subcutanous, intramuscular and ventrogluteal injections.
The student is able to observe side and combined effects of medicines and to evaluate the effectiveness of drug care.
The student is able to perform drug calculations correctly.
The student understands the importance of counselling a client / patient
Content
The nurse and drug care. Provision of pharmaceuticals in hospital and out-of-hospital care. Handling and storage of medicines. Drug calculations. Drug safety and responsibility for informing those involved, administering IC, SC, IM and VG injections. Effective mechanisms, side and combined effects of drugs. Evaluation of the patient's drug care. Action in risk situations.
Qualifications
Basics of Drug Care course should be completed before taking the current course.
