Objective

The student:

- knows how to define physiotherapy as a science and profession and knows the areas of core competence of physiotherapy
- deepens their knowledge and skills so that they are able to act as an expert in multi-professional tasks during the physiotherapy training period
- designs and uses appropriate, evidence-based physiotherapy methods to maintain and promote the functional capacity of clients
- critically evaluates their professional activities and develops them based on evaluation
- knows labour legislation and the regulations defining the employment relationship
- participates in the webinar series organized by Finnish Physioterapy association on working life readiness, which consists of different themes:
o Union of physiotherapists
o Healthcare professional
o Physiotherapist in employment
o Work well-being and coping at work
o Physiotherapist as an entrepreneur
- Revise your first aid skills by participating in a written and practical exam

Content

- physiotherapy as a science, the core competence of a physiotherapist
- current articles related to the field and measures or methods used in physiotherapy (seminar)
- learning report
- labour legislation and the central content of the industry's collective agreements
- working life skills (Finnish physiotherapists)
- first aid skills refresher test

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student

- poorly knows how to define physiotherapy as a science and professional field and only knows the outermost three areas of core competence in physiotherapy
- is unable to work independently in multi-professional tasks during the physiotherapy training period
- does not justify their physiotherapy methods to maintain and promote the clients' ability to function
- evaluates their professional activities unrealistically
- has a weak knowledge of labour legislation and the regulations defining the employment relationship
- does not participate in all webinars on working life skills organized by the Finnish Physiotherapists
- successfully completes the review tasks of the first aid course

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student

- can broadly define physiotherapy as a science and profession and knows some areas of core competence in physiotherapy
- acts as a goal-oriented, developing expert in multi-professional tasks during the physiotherapy training period
- to some extent also use evidence-based physiotherapy methods to maintain and promote their client's ability to function
- evaluates their professional activities and partially develops them based on the evaluation
- knows the main features of labour legislation and the regulations defining the employment relationship
- participates in the webinar series organized by the Finnish Physiotherapy association on working life readiness, which consists of different themes
- successfully completes the review tasks of the first aid course

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student

- knows how to define physiotherapy as a science and profession and knows the areas of core competence of physiotherapy
- works goal-oriented as an expert in multi-professional tasks during the physiotherapy training period
- uses appropriate, evidence-based physiotherapy methods to maintain and promote the functional capacity of their clients
- critically evaluates their professional activities and develops them based on the evaluation
- knows labour legislation and the regulations defining the employment relationship and participates in the webinar series organized by the Finnish Physiotherapy association on working life skills, which consists of different themes
- successfully completes the review tasks of the first aid course
