Objective

Students will understand the development phases of the more common protein crops, the cultivation techniques, and the factors that affect the quantity and quality of harvests. They also know the cultivation possibilities and techniques of more special protein crops and oilseed plants. Students will know how to use machinery needed to harvest and process protein field crops. They will be competent in compiling a cultivation plan including environmental and economic factors. They will also know the most important quality analyses. Students are aware of the processing possibilities and marketing channels.

Qualifications

Basics of plat production. At the beginning of studies, it will be shown literature to reach needed level.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student knows the main protein crops in the development stages, cultivation techniques, crop quality and quantity factors. He also knows the cultivation possibilities and techniques of more special protein crops and oilseed plants. He is aware of the machinery of protein crop harvesting and processing. He can name the principles of cultivation plan and the most important quality analyzes and marketing channels.

Student is able to compare the main protein crops in the developing stages, farming techniques and crop quality and quantity factors. He is able to analyse the cultivation possibilities and techniques of more special protein crops and oilseed plants. He knows the machinery of the main protein crop harvesting and processing. He can make make the cultivation plan and knows the most important quality analyzes and marketing channels.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to evaluate the major protein crop development stages and cultivation techniques to affect crop quality and quantity. He is able to develop the cultivation possibilities and techniques of more special protein crops and oilseed plants. He is able to choose the most appropriate machinery for protein crop harvesting and processing. He is able to make the cultivation plan independently, as well as compare the most important quality analyzes and marketing channels.
