Objective

Competence in the construction process
The aim of the project studies is to strengthen the student's knowledge of the construction industry and develop the ability to combine theory with practice. Students are able to draw up building permit drawings for a detached house on a given plot according to the plan regulations. They can also do small-scale structural design and quantity surveying.
They know the nature of project-type work and the basics of project planning. They can independently acquire information.

Construction Planning, Basics of Structural Design, Timber Structures, Basics of Construction Physics.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students know the basics of building permits. Students know the importance of CAD design as part of construction and understand its meaning in a construction project. Students know the key rules and regulations and instructions on construction. Students are familiar with the meaning of project planning in the process of construction and the basics related to them.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students know the whole project and requirements of a single-family house project and understand their meaning in construction. Students are able to prepare a quantity calculation and cost estimate for a single-family house project. They are able to take into account the requirements set by the authorities.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the abilities above, students know well and are able to apply the subjects learned. They can also analyze the associations between matters. Students are able to make versatile decisions and draw conclusions based on the subjects learned.
