Tavoitteet

The purpose of this course is to provide knowledge and tools of management accounting for the students. By using management accounting managers and other employees can be motivated towards organization’s goals. After completing this course, the students have an overview of management accounting and its importance in planning, decision making and control. The students can distinguish between financial and management accounting. The students are able to recognize the basic terminology, principles and procedures within the management accounting field. The students are able to use various analytical tools and methods of management accounting. The students are able to critically evaluate and develop management accounting in an organization.

Aika ja paikka

The course includes three of compulsory/recommended contact/distance learning sessions, which are scheduled as follows 26th of March 2026 at 17-20 1st of April 2026 at 17-20 11th of April 2026 at 9-15 The student will have access to the course's itslearning workspace from the start date of the course. Learning sessions are recorded and recordings can be found in the itslearning workspace. Published reservations can be seen in Lukkarikone at: https://lukkarit.centria.fi/.

All of the course material can be found on the itslearning LMS used by Centria at the beginning of the course.

Opetusmenetelmät

The learning methods used in the implementation include assignments/learning assignments, a learning diary, practical examples and lectures.

The course includes working life cooperation in the form of working life case examples.

The course uses entirely English-language learning materials. The language of instruction is English.

5 credits corresponds to 135 hours of the student's work, which is divided as follows: contact teaching (12 hours) and distance learning (123 hours).
