Objective
The student
-is capable of working in a multi-professional team and is able to consider the patient's age, growth and development stage.
-is able to assess the resources of patients and their next-of-kin coming from different cultural backgrounds.
-is able to take this assessment into consideration when planning, implementing and evaluating the perioperative nursing.
-can plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions for patients and their next-of-kin facing common perioperative situations.
-can use evidence-based implementations developed for perioperative nursing to help, support, and counsel patients and their next-of-kin.
-knows how to act aseptically.
-is competent in common nursing procedures and diagnostic examinations used as part of perioperative nursing.
-knows how to support and promote perioperative patients' and their next-of-kin's health, self-care, rehabilitation and ability to function.
-applies their knowledge of key conditions requiring surgical intervention in different phases of perioperative nursing care of a patient.
