Objective

Students are able to
- define the concepts health and welfare
- name factors that affect welfare and health
- promote clients' health and welfare, making use of multiprofessional collaboration
- collaborate and engage in dialogical interaction in various co-operation situations with individuals, groups and networks
- with a client-centred approach, analyse factors that affect people's welfare throughout the lifespan
- decrease health differences among risk groups
- make use of various factors and theories on decision-making when guiding clients in making health and welfare-related choices
- explain and make use of factors that affect people's motivation and behaviour when guiding clients to reach goals in various situations
- choose appropriate client-centred methods when guiding people of all ages in health promotion

Content

- concepts and action related to welfare; health; promotion of health and welfare, and multiprofessional collaboration
- theories on self-determination and motivation
- client-centred methods of guidance, for example motivating counselling
- interaction and a dialogical approach
- factors that affect welfare; health differences and risk groups

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Pass:
Students participate in the course sessions (except in online courses) and activities.
Students demonstrate that they have achieved the learning outcomes by completing the assignments during the course with the grade "pass"
Fail: Students fail to participate in the course sessions and activities.
Students have not achieved the learning outcomes and cannot demontrate their competence in them.
