The course comprises the following:

- Relational databases
- Conceptual modelling
- ER (Entity-Relationship)-modelling
- Main features of SQL (Structured Query Language)

Objective

The aim of the course is to familiarize the student with the basics of data management. The student understands the relational model, relational database and learns the stages of the information analysis. Students will have command of SQL language.

- Excellent (5): The student is able to apply the principles of database design in his/her exercises, and dominates the SQL language

- Good (3-4): The student masters well the principles of database design and basic of SQL language

- Satisfactory (1-2) The student knows the basics
