Objective

- The student understands the link between a single project and the strategy of the company, as well as the whole set of projects of the company.
- The student can create a project portfolio and understand its purpose and use.
- The student will be able to manage the processes involved in the creation of a project.
- The student will be aware of the advantages and opportunities of a Project Management Office (PMO).
- The student will be familiar with the maturity models for project work and be able to use them.

Content

- Project management from a strategic perspective
- National and international standards and baselines and their relevance as a reference framework for strategic project competence and project management planning and implementation at the enterprise level.
- Project Management Office (PMO) and project implementation policies and guidelines, i.e. the project manual
- Maturity models (e.g., IPMA Delta, CMMI, P2MM, P3M3) and their use
- Project portfolio management

SCHEDULED ONLINE STUDY

The schedules for the scheduled online teaching can be found in the timetable at https://lukkarikone.seamk.fi/. Timetables are published for the next six weeks. The first six weeks of autumn are published by Midsummer and the first six weeks of spring by Christmas. Timetables may be subject to changes.

Teaching methods

FULLY INDEPENDENT ONLINE STUDY:

The study is conducted online in the Moodle learning environment. The study is carried out independently at your own pace during the implementation period. The study does not include joint meetings or pair or group work.

The student familiarizes themselves with the theoretical material, completes online assignments / practice project / exam according to the given instructions. The study requires independent work and scheduling.

Exam schedules

Kurssin jokaisen aiheen jälkeen on kertaustesti, jonka hyväksytysti suoritettua opiskelija pääsee seuraavaan aiheeseen. Kurssin lopuksi on varsinainen arvosanan määrittävä Moodle-tentti, jonka opiskelija voi tehdä kolmeen kertaan oman aikataulun mukaan

The student is aware of the benefits and opportunities of project management and knows the maturity models of project work and can use them well.

The student has an excellent understanding of the link between the project as a whole and the company's strategy. He/she can build a project portfolio, understand its purpose, and use, and can manage the processes involved in creating a project with excellence. The student is aware of the benefits and opportunities of project management and has an excellent understanding and use of project maturity models.

Further information

Kurssi on nonstop-kurssi eli itsenäisesti opiskeltava verkkokurssi, jonka opiskelija voi tehdä omaan tahtiin kurssin aukiolon ajan. Mikäli opiskelija ei ole ajoissa saanut kurssia valmiiksi toteutusajan päätyttyä, niin opiskelijan tulee ilmoittautua uuteen kurssin toteutukseen, koska kurssi sulkeutuu automaattisesti toteutusajan päätyttyä.
