Objective
The student
- knows how to work in accordance with nursing values, ethical principles and guidelines and knows how to evaluate their implementation in daily work.
- knows how to act responsibly and patient-safely in nursing work.
- knows how to interact professionally and therapeutically with clients/patients of different ages and backgrounds and their close relatives.
- knows how to respond to the customer/patient's need for care using nursing assistance methods and record them structurally.
- can act in accordance with the principles of infection control and justify their importance in nursing work.
- knows how to assess the resources of different patients and their next-of-skin in a client-oriented way and knows how to support them.
- knows how to act in first aid situations and in providing emergency first aid.
- knows how to act in accordance with the principles of rehabilitative nursing.
- knows how to counsel the client/patient to the necessary clinical and physiological examinations.
- knows how to plan, implement and evaluate the patient's medication management.
- knows how to apply Finnish nutritional recommendations in nursing work.
- evaluates his / her own professional competence critically from the perspectives of strengths and developmental requirements.

Practical training in settings that allow the student to practice basic client-centred clinical nursing. Writing an assignment. eDrug Care Certificate. Competence test after practical training

- is not competent to work in client-centered clinical nursing situations even if instructed.
- does not know how to act responsibly and patient-safely in nursing work.
- does not participate responsibly to medication management.
- does not know how to prevent infections in nursing work.
- does not know how to act in accordance with the ethical principles of a nurse in client-oriented clinical nursing work.
- does not know how to interact professionally with a client/patient and work as a member of a work group.
- is not competent to work as a member of a team or to share his/her knowledge in client-centered clinical nursing.
- is unable to analyse his/her strengths or development needs in client-centered clinical nursing.
Qualifications
Starting the internship requires participation in the skills-labs and simulation exercises of the Basic skills of clinical nursing, Rehabilitative nursing and First Aid, Drug Care and Calculations- courses, as well as the approved completion of drug calculations.
