Objective

Competence in structural engineering
Students are familiar with house construction materials, their properties, manufacturing processes, types and uses of products, and the required installations and work methods. Students are aware of the health and environmental impact of materials. They are also capable of seeking information independently to develop their communication and interaction skills.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student knows the properties and production methods of common construction materials, as well as their applicability to different targets of use. The student masters the health and environmental effects of construction materials. The student knows some of the most common materials used in heating, plumbing and air conditioning installations. The student is able to search independently for information, which develops their communication and interactive skills.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student knows the correct warehousing and installation conditions of common construction materials. The student is able to combine construction materials into an appropriate product group and take the effect of humidity on materials into account. The student is able to recognize the key properties of construction materials, which influence their use in construction. The student knows the risks and health effects of construction materials.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the abilities above, the knows well what they have learned and is able to apply it. They are also able to analyze connections between the things they have learned. The student is able to make diversified analyses and draw conclusions based on what they have learned.
