Objective
Occupational and environmental safety in construction
The student understands and is able to take into account the safety at work on the construction site and understands the impact of the choice of materials in ecological construction.
Competence in the construction process
Students know common frame structures. Students know how structural members of frames and custom structures are constructed. They are familiar with supplementary structures and their quality requirements. Students have knowledge of surface treatments and materials. Students know the machines and equipment used in the work.
Competence in structural engineering
Students are familiar with the regulations on fire resistance, sound insulation and heat insulation.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student has the basic knowledge of building construction, yet possibly with some minor imperfections. The student knows work methods in building construction. The student knows common foundation and frame structure solutions, work assignments and quality requirements. The student knows building regulations concerning fire safety categories, sound insulation and thermal insulation. The student knows the machinery and equipment used on a construction site
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student knows the basics and key working methods of building construction. The student masters the modes of implementation and the solutions of structures based on usual foundations, framework, and roof covering. The student knows the completing elements of a building and their quality requirements. The student knows surface materials, right working conditions, and their effects on the quality of building. The student knows the machinery and equipment used on a construction site
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
In addition to the abilities above, the student has a good command of what they have learned and is able to apply it. They are also able to analyze connections between the things they have learned. The student is able to make diversified analyses and draw conclusions based on what they have learned.
