Objective

Students:
• can name physical activity benefits and describe the risks of passive lifestyle.
• can describe the importance of rest for well-being.
• can describe how to improve sleep hygiene.
• can explain the importance of healthy and versatile nutrition to wellbeing. Students are able to base their explanation on the Finnish nutrition guidelines.
• can make healthy meals based on their own eating habits.

Content

• Physical activity: Health benefits of physical activity, the amount of physical activity, everyday exercise vs. functional exercise, diversity of physical activity in nature, influence of physical activity on coping with work, reducing immobility
• Nutrition: Food plate model, meal rhythm, composing meals, quality of nutrition, the amount of food
• Rest: relaxation exercises, time management, impacts of insufficient sleep, the meaning of sleep hygiene

To pass the course, the student must complete the course assignments and the Moodletents in a satisfactory manner and according to the timetable.

Student:
-can name physical activity benefits and describe the risks of passive lifestyle.
-can describe the importance of rest for well-being.
-can describe how to improve sleep hygiene.
-can explain the importance of healthy and versatile nutrition to wellbeing. Students are able to base their explanation on the Finnish nutrition guidelines.
-can make healthy meals based on their own eating habits.

Assessment methods and criteria

Approved completion of three exams.
