Radical View on Modern Rural Art (3op)

Osaamistavoitteet

Student understands the artistic structures and beliefs of modern rural arts on western societies in 21st century and sees the opportunities of new co-working methods in artistic projects. Student understands the philosophical background of the visual imagination and is able to analyse and reform the artistic manifestation in rural scene from a radical point of view.

Sisältö

The course will provide the basics of radical thinking in the modern rural art scene through various philosophers and western artists such as Alain Badiou, Janne Kurki, Erin Hogan and Joel Ross. The course will introduce new co-working methods studied by rural art collectives located in US.

During the course students will make an introduction for a collective art project in local area. They will work in collaboration with Seinäjoki Art Hall.

Arviointikriteeri, hyväksytty/hylätty

Pass: Activity during lectures and workshops. A good quality of written assignments the art project demo.
