Objective

The student will be able to
-plan the feeding of pigs, cattle and poultry taking into account productivity, animal health and welfare, economy and environment
-monitor the factors related to an animal health care plan
-use the modern planning tools
-apply knowledge on animal nutrition and welfare when evaluating feeding and helth care plans

Content

-Nutritional physiology of farm animals in the context of production and animal health
-Further information on and importance of feed evaluation systems, nutrients, and feed processing
-Software used in feed planning
-Further knowledge on the mechanisms related to animal health and illness
-The field and organisations related to national animal health care
-The health care plans and monitoring typical factors affecting animal health, preventing of the typical diseases and principles of medication

Student can basics of nutritional physiology of farm animals in the context of production and animal health. Use software used in feed planning when advised.
Student is familiar to the health care plans and monitoring typical factors affecting animal health, preventing of the typical diseases and principles of medication
