Objective

Students familiarize themselves with challenges of working in senior positions in modern organizations of health care and social work. They are able to learn in a group and to share in work communities what they have learned. Students are able to think critically about principles of management and analyse them in their profession. In addition they are able to evaluate and develop an organisation and its management. They are able to develop and manage the personnel and their own competence utilizing good praxis. Students are able to analyse the latest knowledge about management and quality management and apply it to their practical work. They are able to develop their work community and themselves as managers being able to meet future challenges.

Basics of strategic management
Vision and strategic decision making ? future management
Quality management in the operational environment of social and health services
Basics of project management and development
Change management
Influencing society, political decision making and financing in strategy work in the public sector

Satisfactory (1-2)
Using evidence-based knowledge, students know how to describe strategic and quality management and to some extent apply the knowledge to develop their work community.

Good (3-4)
Students know how to search and compare evidence-based knowledge of strategic and quality management and understand their significance in the development of their work community.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5)
Students analyze latest evidence-based knowledge of strategic and quality management and apply this knowledge to the development of their work community.
