This curriculum is for Master-level Open UAS students. The curriculum includes first year studies in the Master's Degree Programme in Business Competence . There is also some personal study planning in the open university's path studies.



PROFILE OF THE PROGRAMME
A master's degree in business competence enables professionals to purposefully and sustainably enhance and expand their competence in doing business. The degree also allows professionals to develop personally and to obtain a complete picture of how to develop their business competence.

OCCUPATIONAL PROFILES
Upon completion of the programme, students with this degree will be competent in the following areas:
- As managers for demanding development projects
- As designers and managers for duties associated with business competence
- As independent entrepreneurs who are competent in carrying out commercial activities

PEDAGOGICAL APPROACH
Multi-modal learning methods are used. Each course includes three-day contact sessions on an average. The emphasis of learning is on independent work as well as solving distant learning assignments and studying online. The work life oriented development project is an essential part of the studies.

Objective

The student is able to analyze and develop business sector. The student identifies development needs, is able to initiate and control the development processes of management, marketing and financial field. Student is able to identify development trends in industry’s environment, such as sustainablity, internationalization and social responsibility. Student can evaluate the impact of transformation processes on business. Student is able to identify new business opportunities. Student can act in the learning team and evaluate own knowledge development.
