Objective

Student
-can work in a multidisciplinary team in the care of internal, neurological and infectious disease patients, taking into account the age, growth and developmental stage of the patient and the requirements and ethics of different care and service environments.
-can plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients of different ages and/or cultural backgrounds and their next of kin
-can document and orally report on nursing care.
-can provide care for clients/patients from different age and/or cultural backgrounds and their next of kin using evidence-based methods of helping, supporting and guiding.
-knows the key procedures and diagnostic tests required in clinical nursing and is able to guide the client/patient before and after the examination
-can plan and safely administer medication, fluids, nutrition and transfusion to an adult patient and assess their effects.
-can support and promote the health and functional capacity of patients of different ages and their relatives as part of self-care
-assist and support patients of all ages and their relatives in palliative and end-of-life care.
-can work aseptically and justify the importance of aseptic work in nursing.
-critically assess their own professional competence in terms of strengths and developmental requirements.

Content

Practical training in settings that allow the student to practice nursing medical patients, cancer patients, neurological patients and infectious diseases patients, or practicing palliative and end-of-life care. eDrug Care Certificate. Writing of an assignment.
Drug calculations.

Qualifications

Starting training requires the completion of drug calculation module and participation in the training of basics clinical nursing skills. In addition, most of the workshop and simulation exercises must be completed.

When the criteria below (one or more) are met, the training must be supplemented:
The student
- does not demonstrate that she / he use evidence-based information as a basis for clinical client-oriented nursing.
- is not competent to work in individual client-centered clinical nursing situations even if instructed.
- cannot demonstrate awareness of the ethical principles for registered nurses/ public health nurses in client-centered clinical nursing.
- is not competent to work as a member of a team or to share his/her knowledge in client-centered clinical nursing.
- is unable to analyse his/her strengths or development needs in client-centered clinical nursing.
- does not sufficiently observe patient/client safety
