Objective

The student knows the basics of Lean management in production and expert work. The student knows the basics of what benefits Lean can bring and how to assess the current situation of a company. The student understands why Lean is necessary for a successful company or other organization that pursues a particular outcome with certain resources. The student knows the main Lean tools and methods: is able to reduce waste and maximize customer value. The student knows how to implement Lean in a company or other organization.

The student is able to name Lean tools and show that he/she is familiar with the concepts, mapping the current state, and the benefits of Lean thinking.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to name the benefits of Lean management in an expert organization as well as in a production organization. The student demonstrates that he/she is familiar with the most important Lean tools and concepts and sees their significance in continuous development.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student understands the benefits of Lean management in an expert organization as well as in a production organization. The student knows the most important Lean tools, concepts, and is able to analyze information to support the continuous development of the organization. The student is able to comprehensively assess the current situation and apply the information in practice in process development and problem-solving.
