Objective

Students know how to:

- analyse economic aspects of welfare in their organization and combine them to gain an overall picture of the activity and economics.
- compose economic indicators for welfare
- carry out a public procurement process and work as experts in a procurement team, demonstrating command over the role of public procurement laws when seeking innovative solutions to support people's welfare and wellbeing

Content

- The core content of the course involves the financial management of welfare. The financial management of welfare starts with the duty of the local municipality to promote the welfare of the population and to provide services in an economically sustainable manner.
- The course contents include budgeting, financial planning and basics of public procurement, and relevant special problems. In financial planning, the focus will be on cross-functional work and foresight skills.
- In public procurement, the focus will be on the procurement of new ideas and practices and on the laws on public procurement.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Pass:
attending contact sessions, active participation, completion of the assignments according to the criteria provided.
