Objective

The student understands the basic concepts of industrial business management and process thinking. The student is familiar with different areas of operation management. Additionally, the student knows the concepts and key methods of operations management and masters their application in various situations. The student is familiar with the basic concepts and methods of material management and understands their significance behind competitive and profitable business operations. The student is aware of different types of production processes and has basic knowledge of various metrics and development methods.

Content

Business competitiveness and profitability; strategic and operational management; modern marketing, value creation, products, and innovations; material management, logistics, and supply chains; operations management and capacity control; planning and development of production processes; responding to change and renewing competitiveness.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student uses and explains the terminology of industrial economics in a limited scope. The student finds information related to industrial economics from various sources. The student acts according to the instructions in individual situations and recognizes the importance of staying on schedule and being responsible, as well as explains their own actions. The student has familiarized themselves with the knowledge base of industrial economics and explains its key concepts.

The student uses and interprets the terminology of industrial economics expertly and fluently. The student utilizes research-based information related to industrial economics from various sources. The student acts with clear objectives and considers scheduling requirements in planning and acts responsibly, modifying their own actions as necessary. The student has familiarized themselves with the knowledge base of industrial economics and applies its key concepts in practice.

The student uses the terminology of industrial economics fluently and broadly, mastering overall concepts. The student expertly and diversely utilizes research-based information related to industrial economics from various sources and evaluates both the reliability and critically the sources used. The student organizes their own activities with clear objectives and takes care of their own and others' schedules, acts responsibly, and changes their own and others' actions as necessary. The student has extensively and diversely familiarized themselves with the knowledge base of industrial economics and applies what they have learned in different operational environments.
