Objective

The student
- is able to analyze the principles of typography and design of graphical symbols
- is able to apply the basics of visual communication in graphical design assignments and commissions
- is able to apply the basics of image processing in assignments
- knows the basics of layout and is able to apply different grids
- is able to utilize the opportunities to apply graphic design in different media and productions

- Basics of typography
- Graphic design software
- Basics of layout design
- Printed communication and electronic communication

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Pass:
- Student attends classes.
- Student can adapt the basics of visual communications in tasks and commissions and in different mediums and productions.
- He understands basics of layout design, colors and typography.
- Student can identify differences between print and digital media.

Fail:
- Student does not return his tasks at all or they do not show that he understands the substance of the course at all.
- Student does not understand basics of layout design, colors or typography.
- Student does not attend classes.
