Practical Training in Nursing (10op)

Tavoitteet

The learning contract is a written and discussed as a agreement between the student, clinical supervisor and lecturer.
The aim of the learning contract is to integrate theoretical and practical nursing studies into a whole.
In the learning contract, students formulate their personal learning outcomes for the practical training period and evaluate their progress in achieving the professional competence requirements for nurses.
The learning contract also includes the feedback and assessment given by the clinical supervisor

The practical training options are (week 12-15 /2019 and weeks 17-20 / 2019:
*Pediatric Nursing (nursery Home, Pediatric Outpatient Clinic, Neonat ICU) : 1 student
*Gerontolgical Nursing (Hme for Elderly People, Clinical Ward): 2 students
*Out-Patient Clinics (Speciailitites: Surgical Nursing, Medical Nursing, Dermatology, Allegology etc.) + Certain Clinicla Wards: 4 students
*Acute and Operative Nursing: 1 student
*Nursing of Clients with Disabilities: 1-2 students

CRITERIA FOR PASSED PRACTICAL TRAINING
PASSED

CRITERIA FOR FAILING THE PRACTICAL TRAINING PERIOD

*The student does not know how to meet the basic needs patients
*The student’s knowledge and skills in nursing are severely lacking, patient safety can not be guaranteed
*The student is unable to observe and inform others of changes in patient’s vital functions
*The student does not master asepsis, the patient’s and the student’s own safety is jeopardized
*Recurrent mistakes in drug care
*The student seeks to avoid nursing and learning situations
*The student avoids patient contact
* The student does not dress and behave correctly or politely in spite of feedback
*The student does not observe confidentiality
*The student’s co-operation skills are severely lacking
*Shallow motivation for learning the profession
