Sisältö
CONTENTS
- Study courses combine physical mobility with a virtual part and follow principles of Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme.
- Preassignment related to the given topic.
- Multicultural collaboration involving students and teachers from participating universities in the project.
- Problem-solving, empathy and social responsibility. Reflection and assignment after physical mobility.
- Rehabilitation of cancer patients: expert lectures, and practical exercises on the rehabilitation of cancer patients.
- Treatment of shoulder pain, practical exercises, and case studies on the treatment of shoulder patients.
- Remote physical therapy, simulations, and expert presentations on the practices and challenges of remote physical therapy.
- Evidence-based practice, why research evidence is not always utilized in practice.
- Multicultural collaboration on an emerging physiotherapy topic.
Aika ja paikka
The schedules for the scheduled online teaching can be found in the timetable at https://lukkarikone.seamk.fi/. Timetables are published for the next six weeks. The first six weeks of autumn are published by Midsummer and the first six weeks of spring by Christmas. Timetables may be subject to changes.
Oppimateriaalit
To complete the course, students must have access to a computer, headphones, and a webcam. Students must be able to use the Moodle learning platform.
The course utilizes up-to-date, evidence-based research data that students have gathered together with their small group members.
During the course, students share what they have previously learned in a multicultural group.
Opetusmenetelmät
Completion of the course requires participation in both contact teaching and online teaching.
The course is conducted in the Moodle learning environment. The course requires independent work and scheduling.

Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus
The workload of the study is designed so that one credit corresponds to an average of 27 hours of student work to achieve the learning objectives. The actual time required varies individually, e.g., due to prior knowledge.
Lectures and guided exercises 35 h, online teaching that requires presence 16 h, indepndent study 30 h.
The virtual part of the studies takes place in online learning environment between 20.10-28.11.2025. The online studies include group building, starting pre assignment, and after the intensive week reflection discussions and assessments.
Contact lessons/intensive week in Seinäjoki takes place from 3.11.-7.11.2025.

- will be able to describe physiotherapy practices in their own country and compare them in a multicultural small group, highlighting differences and similarities between countries
Fail

- participates reluctantly or hesitantly in international collaborations.
- shows an inability to adapt communication or behavior appropriately in multicultural settings.
- lacks empathy towards peers or individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- shows resistance to sharing ideas, listening to others, or compromising during problem-solving tasks.
- participates only occasionally in online activities and completes the learning assignments planned for the course incompletely.
- is unable to search for and use evidence-based information. He/she uses everyday knowledge when performing tasks related to different areas (shoulder problems, rehabilitation of cancer patients).
- can describe physiotherapy in their own country to some extent but cannot identify similarities and differences when comparing these in their multicultural small group.
