Objective

The student masters the key principles of concept design philosophy. The student is also capable to construct a kinematic model of a machine parts, assemblies and mechanisms by using modern concept design softwares.

Content

Use of mechanical design software.

Materials

Electric study material handed out by lecturer.

Teaching methods

Practical exercises. In the course, kinematic models are built using ready-made CAD geometries, and we learn how to connect a PLC to control a virtual machine model. Siemens NX Mechatronics Concept Designer software is used in the course.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Satisfactory (1..2)
- basic modelling correctly made, unfunctional kinematic structure

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3..4)
- basic modelling correctly made, functional kinematic structure

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent(5)
- basic modelling correctly made, functional kinematic structure. In addition to that the student has shown an considerable ability to understand possibilities of used software.

Qualifications

Machine elements.
