Tavoitteet

Students will be competent in configuring and programming control systems (PLC) associated with the automation of bulk goods. They will create automation applications for complex process modules utilizing and testing the knowledge and skills they have learned during their studies.

Sisältö

Students complete exercises in the laboratory using a diverse range of automation devices. The software and devices are those that are commonly used in industry, and therefore students are able to apply the experience they have obtained in the laboratory directly to situations in industry. The devices students use include Siemens and Omron programmable logic controllers, touch-screens, PC monitoring stations, industrial terminals, and RFID (radio frequency identification) sensors. Students also gain experience in using electric motors and pneumatic cylinders.

Luennoitsijan luentomateriaalit, luentojen esimerkit, harjoitustöiden verkkomateriaali sekä maahantuojien tuote- ja ohjelmointimanuaalit.

Opetusmenetelmät

Laboratorioissa tehdään harjoituksia monipuolisilla automaatiolaitteilla. Ohjelmistot ja fyysiset laitteet ovat teollisuudessa yleisesti käytettyjä tuotteita, joten opiskelijat voivat suoraan hyödyntää teollisuudessa laboratorioissa hankkimaansa kokemusta. Laitteet koostuvat Siemens ja Omron ohjelmoitavista logiikoista, kosketusnäytöistä, PC-valvomoista, teollisuusväylistä sekä saattomuisteista. Toimilaitteina toimivat sähkömoottorit ja pneumaattiset sylinterit.
