Objective

Students understand the importance of logistics for business, industry and cooperation between companies. Students identifiy the key players, functions and processes in logistics and supply chain management. They acquire the fundamentals and basic concepts of logistical thinking. Students understand the overview of logistical flows at the top level and applies it to the circular economy. They identify the ethical aspects of logistics and apply them to supply chain management as a whole.

Content

The different stages of the logistics process (inbound and outbound logistics); the different actors, functions and processes in the supply chain; supply chain management; logistics and its role in adding value; measuring logistics performance, service levels and costs; logistics process design; logistics as a strategic competitive factor; logistics system; freight and passenger transport; risk management; ethical practices

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students recognise the importance of logistics for business, industry and cooperation between companies. Students identify the key players, functions and processes in logistics and supply chain management. Students acquire the fundamentals and basic concepts of logistical thinking. Students understand the overall picture of logistics flows at the top level and link it to the circular economy. Students identify ethical perspectives in the field of logistics and find them in the context of supply chain management. Students identify the importance of sustainability.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students explain the importance of logistics for business, industry and cooperation between companies. Students identify the key actors, functions and processes involved in logistics and supply chain management. Students give examples of the fundamentals and basic concepts of logistical thinking in a consistent manner. Students explain the overview of logistics flows at the top level and link it to the circular economy. Students interpret the ethical aspects of logistics and deduce them from the overall supply chain management. Students act responsibly.

Students introduce the importance of logistics for business, industry and cooperation between companies. Students explain how the key actors, functions and processes of logistics and supply chain management work. Students apply the principles and basic concepts of logistical thinking in a consistent manner. Students apply a holistic view of logistical flows at the top level and its link to the circular economy. Students apply ethical perspectives in logistics and apply them to supply chain management as a whole. Students act responsibly and evaluate their own performance.
