UUSI Laboratory Assignments in Electrical Engineering (3op)

Osaamistavoitteet

The student is able to carry out basic electrical and automation engineering connections safely and in accordance with current regulations. They build basic assemblies of an automation system in practice and consider the significance of component selection from the perspectives of energy efficiency, equipment life cycle, and sustainable use.

The student is familiar with the technical, safe, and responsible practices related to the installation of electrical equipment and adheres to them. They recognize the importance of installation solutions for the reliability and maintainability of the system.

Sisältö

The student designs, builds, and programs a small-scale automation system that includes
- a mechanical structure,
- a programmable logic controller (PLC),
- various sensors and actuators, and
- a motor output.
The student carries out the system wiring safely and in accordance with electrical safety regulations, assessing the suitability of the selected components and programming for the intended task.

Esitietovaatimukset

Programmable logic controllers course or similar knowledge.

Arviointikriteeri, hyväksytty/hylätty

The student assembles, tests and programs a functional and safe automation system and submits the related reports with passing grade.
