Objective

The students understand and can use basic grammar and vocabulary of German both in spoken and written communication. He can
- tell about living and renting an apartment.
- run simple errands on the phone
- do some shopping
- handle situations at a doctor’s appointment.
- use perfect and imperfect, prepositions, imperative, and decline adjectives.
- uses the following structures: perfect and imperfect, prepositions of change, command form, knows the conjugation system of adjectives

The target level of the course is A1.3-A2.1 on the skill level scale of the European reference framework

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student can communicate in everyday communication situations when helped. The student makes mistakes in pronunciation. He understands slow, clear speech and some expressions in written texts. The student can write simple text, but mistakes impede comprehension.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student can independently cope with everyday communication situations. Mistakes do not interfere with understanding. The pronunciation is mostly understandable. The student understands the main points from clearly spoken language and easy texts. The student can write mostly comprehensible texts with some errors.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is capable of independent and understandable communication in everyday situations. The pronunciation is close to that of a native speaker. The student understands normal-rate speech and easily written texts. He can write understandable text, which may contain minor mistakes.
