Objective

Students act with an attitude of self-management. They are aware of their responsibility for the quality of nursing in their own action and in the organization. Students are able to prevent and detect shortcomings in the quality of the nursing process. They are able to evaluate quality throughout the nursing process and understand their responsibility in securing and promoting patient safety.

Content

Finnish legislation and national quality guidelines and requirements.
Care guidelines, patient classification systems, quality management systems, quality assurance, sectors of patient safety: safe care, safe equipment, safe medication, HaiPro Safety Incident Reporting System

- are able to recognize the meaning of the management as the member of the working community and different networks
- are able to analyze the topics of management ja quality assurance from the limited viewpoint
- are able to combine the topics by the limited way with the health care organizations
- are able to utilize the laws and norms of working life by the limited way in health care organizations
- are able to list the needs of the quality assurance methods

Students
- are able to manage themselves as the member of the working community and different networks
- are able to handle with the topics of management ja quality assurance widely
- are able to combine the topics with the health care organizations
- are able to utilize the laws and norms of working life in health care organizations
- are able to analyze the needs of the quality assurance and patient-safety in the health care organizations

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

- are able to seek the actual research knowledge in the topics of management ja quality assurance
- are able to deal with the topics comprehensively related the health care organizations
- are able to apply and work critically according the laws and norms of working life
- are able to justify ja make conclusions the needs of the quality assurance and patient-safety in the health care organizations

- are able to analyze the topics of management ja quality assurance without the connections with the health care organizations or instructions of the assignment
