Objective

The course objective is to provide the students with the knowledge to plan and implement the condition inspection of concrete and timber structures and to draw up related reports in a laboratory conditions. Also building physics is one theme of the course.

Content

The course helps student to get familiar with a wide variety of different testing methods related to various branches of construction business and research, both in construction of new buildings as well as related to renovation. Topics contain measuring moisture related problems, thermographic imaging and air-tightness of buildings, sound insulation of structures and acoustic conditions of rooms, condition investigations of concrete structures and conservation of old buildings.

Student can independently go on experimenting to control the entire working process to gain optimal results.
