Objective

Students will understand the functions of the health care and social service system in practice, they will be introduced to the work of physiotherapists, explore a case study to learn what the dynamic physiotherapy process with the patient/client involves, study documentation practices, observe how ethical principles are visible in physiotherapy, and participate in assisting ward patients/clients with exercise and daily activities.

No previous studies are required.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Pass
Students have been introduced to practices of the health and social care system and they have gained an overall picture of the physiotherapist's job description and work in a health centre or other unit. Students are aware of the meaning of ethical principles in care and therapy work. They have gained practical experience of assisting patients/clients with mobility and daily activities in a ward and they have been introduced to the rehabilitation and physiotherapy process.
