Objective
After completing the course, learners will be able to
- structure the key elements of empathy and trust and their significance in remote care in terms of client safety, participation, and well-being
- analyze how technology-mediated remote care affects the care relationship and interaction
- apply and further develop verbal and non-verbal means of strengthening empathic encounters and trust in remote care
Content
Examining the concepts of empathy and trust from the perspective of client safety, participation, and perceived well-being
Technology-mediated remote care as a care relationship, the impact of technology on interaction
Verbal and non-verbal interaction skills in remote encounters, developing self-expression to strengthen trust
Situations that challenge trust in remote care, identifying and assessing them
Reflecting on and developing one's own professional competence and empathy skills
Location and time
The studies allow for completion according to your own schedule.
Materials
The learning material consists of written, visual and audio learning materials. The learning material is available on DigiCampus.
Teaching methods
The study is conducted online in the DigiCampus learning environment. The study is carried out independently at your own pace during the implementation period. The study does not include joint meetings or time-bound pair or group work. The student familiarizes themselves with the theoretical materials and other learning materials and completes online assignments according to the given instructions. The study requires independent work and scheduling.
Student workload
The workload of the study is designed so that one credit corresponds to an average of 27 hours of student work to achieve the learning objectives. The actual time required varies individually, e.g., due to prior knowledge.

-explain how technology-mediated remote care changes the care relationship and interaction from the perspective of both the client and the employee
-identify and apply verbal and non-verbal means of strengthening empathy and trust in remote care
- recognize situations that challenge trust in remote encounters and evaluate their own professional actions.
Rejected: The learner is unable to demonstrate competence according to the assessment criteria for an approved performance.
