Objective

The student is able to succeed in routine communication situations of their field both face to face, over the phone and in writing.
The student knows the fundamental English terms of their field. They can independently produce various kinds of messages, documentation and other written materials of professional quality. Students are competent in speaking to groups.
Students can find relevant international and academic sources.

The student understands slow and clear speech and some parts of easy field specific texts. Both in spoken and written language simple structures, limited professional vocabulary and mistakes disturb understanding.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student understands the most common field-related texts. He performs fairly well in predictable field-related situations in English.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student understands and manages to produce professional material. He performs very well in field-related situations in English. He uses the professional vocabulary skillfully.

The language of instruction is English.
The course requires a minimum of 50% attendance in the classroom so that if the student is absent from more than 20% of the contact, they will automatically receive a lower final grade.

All the tasks are to be accomplished according to the given guidelines and within the given time limits.
Assessment is based on the following:
- Written tasks, presentation, active participation, and vocabulary quiz.
Students must pass the graded tasks and complete all homework tasks to complete the course.
