Objective

The student knows the principles of good occupational health care practice and is able to act accordingly when planning and implementing the health care and work capacity of working age and work community and rehabilitating health care work. In addition, he/she is able to assess the impact of work, work communities and environments on the health and work ability of working-age people. The student is able to plan, implement and evaluate and make the necessary development proposals to promote the health and work ability of clients (individual, family, group, workplace, work or other community). The student is able to work in multidisciplinary and non-professional work communities and in various cooperation networks. The student is able to implement occupational health-oriented medical care.

Content

Occupational health care service system and its links with stakeholders. Key legislation and policies on occupational health and safety, compensation practice. Workplace health examinations and maintenance, promotion and follow-up of health, work and performance at different stages of the careers (including the unemployed). Principles of good occupational health care practice, working life awareness. Planning, implementation and monitoring of occupational health cooperation based on workplace surveys. Assessment and management of work ability, early support and rehabilitation. Assessment of health conditions, identification of resource factors, health hazards of work environments and communities, hazard and load factors. Key occupational diseases and occupational diseases. Occupational safety and ergonomics. Promoting the health of working life, jobs, work environments and communities, and monitoring well-being at work through cooperation between different actors. Occupational Health Care / Open Care Reception.

The student
- demonstrates and manages the basic knowledge of the different aspects of health care work
- seeks information and justifies the use of data sources in health care
- justifies the action with evidence-based information for the development of health care
- is capable of independent decision-making in different situations and operating environments in health care
- operates in a customer-oriented and customer-friendly manner in health care
- is able to guide individual clients and their families in health care
- is able to promote group health
- works safely and in accordance with the principles of professional ethics of the public health nurse
- works as a health care expert in multidisciplinary groups
- is able to develop himself/herself in occupational health care

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
- demonstrates the management of the knowledge base of different areas of health care and applies information widely in health care
- is capable of independent decision-making in different health care situations and environments
- operates in a customer-oriented, responsible and safe manner in health care
- is able to listen, support and guide individual clients and their families in health care
- is able to promote group health
- works safely in the work of a nurse and in accordance with the principles of professional ethics
- evaluates and critically use evidence-based information for health care development
- works as a health care expert in multidisciplinary groups and projects
- is able to develop himself/herself and health care

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
- demonstrates the wide-ranging management of the knowledge base of the various areas of health care and expertly applies it in health care
- is capable of independent decision-making in different health care situations and environments
- works from the needs of the client and his/her family in health care
- is able to listen, support and guide the client and his/her family in health care
- demonstrates the management of individual, group and community health promotion methods
- assumes responsibility for the overall care and service process of the client in health care
- independently searches for evidence-based information, uses it and assesses it critically in health care and its development
- is able to develop himself/herself and health-care activities in accordance with the principles of professional ethics and safety
- develops activities as a health care expert in multidisciplinary groups and projects
