Content scheduling

Opintojakson lähiopetus toteutetaan viikoilla 2-12. Opintojakson toteutuksessa vaihtelevat teoriatunnit ja lukupiirit, joista opiskelija valitsee yhteensä kolme lukupiiriä, joihin osallistuu. Yhden lukupiirin hän ohjaa itse yhdessä toisen opiskelijan kanssa.

Objective

After the course the student is able to organize and categorize fiction to different genres. The student is able to name the valued novels of of the genres. S/he has read samples of important classics of various literary genres. S/he is able to present and recommend genre fiction to customers.

- Reading, presenting and writing critics about genre fiction
- Publishing critics about books in weblog
- Group work of chosen genre
- Conversations about the books at reading circles and social media
- Organizing a reading circle

Teaching methods

Opintojakson aikana luetaan, esitellään muille ryhmäläisille ja arvioidaan genrekirjallisuutta sekä suullisesti että kirjallisesti. Opintojaksoon kuuluu keskustelua genrekirjallisuudesta, ryhmätöitä, lukupiirityöskentelyä ja sisällön tuottamista verkkoon. Opintojakson opiskelu toteutetaan sekä tutkivan että keskustelevan oppimisen menetelmiä käyttäen. Se sisältää tiedonhankintaa, jäsentelyä, arviointia ja jakamista, joka tapahtuu erikokoisissa ryhmissä. Lukupiireissä korostuu keskusteleva oppiminen.

Student workload

Lähiopetusta 30 h ja itsenäistä työskentelyä sekä ryhmätyöskentelyä 100 h.

1-2
The student has completed all the course tasks but hasn't allways followed the timetables or instructions. The student takes infrequently part to discussions. The student writes short critics in web log.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

3-4
The student has completed the course tasks according to the timetables and instructions. S/he plays an active role in groupwork and takes often part in discussions in reading circles and in web log. The student writes describing critics in web log.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

5
The student has completed all the course tasks according to the timetables and instructions. S/he plays an active and enthusiastic role in groupwork and is eager to take part in discussions in reading circles and in web log. S/he is able to lead discussions in reading circle. The student writes analytic critics in web log. S/he has shown interest in the course topics and has searched further information about genre literature.
