Content scheduling
Orientation to the internship, drawing up a personal plan, agreeing on places to visit, completing the internship period, drawing up a learning assignment, and participating in the internship summary day.
Objective
Students are able to describe the most typical professional fields of Bachelors of Social Services. Concerning their practical placement, they are able to describle the objectives and responsibilities which the organization has in the field of welfare services. Students are able to describe every day life, strengths and challenges of service users and other people that are in the need of support. They have capacities to meet the service users and the people closely related to them. Students are able to name some objectives and principals of professional work in social services field. They can describe clients' service network.Students are able to reflect their individual experiences and consider their future career as Bachelor of Social Services.
Content
Implementation of practical training in social welfare organization, which represents public, private or voluntary sector. Practical training can alternatively be implemented in different learning environments related to working life.
Materials
Material from previous theory courses and material used in training placements, where applicable.
Teaching methods
The course will be introduced online on March 2, 2026, from 9 to 10 a.m.. During the course, students will familiarize themselves with the duties of a social worker in accordance with the instructions provided in the orientation. Students will draw up a separate plan for their internship and demonstrate what they have learned during a summary day.

During the course, students will become familiar with the duties of a social worker in accordance with the instructions provided in the orientation.
Student workload
The course will take place between March 2 and July 31, 2026. The course will be introduced online on March 2, 2026, from 9 to 10 a.m. Students will complete their internship according to a student-driven plan during the specified period. The student work component of the course is 135 hours, consisting of the following:

Approved:
The student has completed all the stages of the internship process described in the internship orientation: participated in the orientation, prepared an internship plan, agreed on internship placements, completed the internship, prepared a learning assignment, and participated in the internship summary day. In addition, the student has demonstrated in their learning assignment that they have achieved the learning outcomes of the course as follows:
The student is able to
- describe the tasks and objectives of their internship organization
- describe the support needs of service users
- describe the services and benefits used by clients
- reflect on the professional learning experiences gained during the internship and consider the direction of their career as a social worker.
