Objective
After completing the course, students have a broad understanding of traditional and newer methods used in children's library work. They are able to select methods suitable for children's library work situations and apply these methods when working with children of different ages. They have tried out a new method in practice. They have gained experience in evaluating methods together with their peers and their own repertoire of methods has expanded.

The course includes practical training of one method in a library.
Student workload
The course includes five (5) lessons at Teams. Each lesson lasts three (3) hours. In addition, students are expected to engage in independent study. One credit corresponds to 27 hours of individual work.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Successful completion of the course requires that students are able to distinguish between and compare traditional and newer methods of children's library work. They have planned and implemented one children's library work situation in which they have applied a new method. They have conducted a self-assessment of the situation and reported on their experience to the other students in the group. They have provided peer feedback on at least one other student's report on the application of the method.
